Job Purpose:

The Commercial Loan Assistant position, also referred to as Commercial Loan Coordinator, plays a crucial role in INSBANKs mission to enhance client relationships and streamline the loan process. This position is integral to ensuring that commercial clients receive exceptional service and support throughout their loan and deposit interactions with the correct stakeholders engaged. By collaborating closely with Relationship Managers, Credit Administration, Loan Administration, and the Treasury Management Department, the Commercial Loan Coordinator helps facilitate efficient onboarding, loan origination, compliance with regulations, and the establishment of commercial deposit relationships. This role not only supports INSBANKs operational goals but also contributes to building long-term, trust-based relationships with commercial clients, ultimately driving the bank's growth and success.

Job Description:

Work with the Relationship Manager to coordinate and manage commercial relationships through the loan, loan renewal and modification, and deposit acquisition process. Responsible for collaborating with Relationship Managers to build loan requests in the banks underwriting system to facilitate proper underwriting and analysis. Collaborate with Loan Administration for the preparation of commercial loan documents in compliance with bank policy and state and federal lending regulations. Collaborate with the Commercial Deposit and Treasury Management Department to facilitate deposit opportunities. Provide support to assigned relationship managers through collaboration on new client onboarding and loan origination. Communicate directly with commercial clients to facilitate loan procedures as well as to collect the required documentation to manage the ongoing relationship. Understand and be familiar with commercial loan processes including documentation requirements - particularly real estate loan documentation and the Uniform Commercial Code.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Relationship Managers/Commercial Lenders, Loan Admin department, Credit Admin department and Private Client and Treasury Management services to coordinate and ensure that all tasks related to applicable commercial relationships are handled, projects are up to date, and processes are completed within required timelines. Provide assistance to assigned lenders and relationship managers by performing CLC assigned processes and procedures. Manage the flow of new loan requests by assigned officers. Provide service to commercial customers and make appropriate referrals to support departments as required. Assist in the collection and coordination of loan supporting documentation. Initial setup of Customer Information File for submission to QC. Coordinate with the Commercial Deposit department for commercial deposit relationship opportunities. Responsible for managing multiple levels of services based on assigned Relationship Managers and the entire RM population. Assist with loan disbursements. Handle routine requests for customer service including advances on lines of credit, pay-outs, account transfers, and resolves customer issues as needed. Ensure that supporting loan documentation and files are processed and properly maintained. Answer customer questions in a timely manner in-person, by phone, email, fax or mail.

Other Key Job Functions:

Communicate effectively with Senior Management, Auditors, Vendors, and other bank personnel. Adhere to all bank and department personnel policies and procedures. Perform other reasonably related job responsibilities as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Bachelors degree or equivalent related professional work experience 2+ year's experience as Commercial Loan Assistant or similar role At least two (2) years of previous experience working in the banking industry Ability to build rapport with peers and foster interdepartmental relationships Excellent verbal and written communication skills Possess excellent analytical skills Initiative, dependability and ability to work with minimum supervision High level of accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to manage and prioritize tasks Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to maintain the strictest level of confidentiality Strong work ethic Focus on timely follow up Regular reliable attendance and punctuality are essential functions to this position
