About the Role

We are seeking an experienced

Property & Casualty Underwriter

to join a rapidly growing team focused on delivering innovative insurance solutions for high-hazard industries. This role offers significant autonomy, visibility, and the opportunity to help build a specialized underwriting practice from the ground up. You will manage a diverse portfolio which may consist

construction, builders risk, casualty (primary or excess), or renewable energy accounts , while collaborating closely with brokers and distribution partners. This is an exciting chance to shape the future of underwriting in a tech-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Underwrite and manage a desk of

new and renewal business

across casualty, construction, and renewable energy lines. Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and distribution partners. Provide timely, accurate quotes and negotiate terms to drive profitable growth. Market the company's offerings through travel and in-person meetings, both independently and alongside team members. Contribute to the development of underwriting strategies for emerging sectors, including renewable energy. Support the build-out of underwriting processes and tools in collaboration with technology teams. Demonstrate leadership potential with aspirations to mentor and lead additional underwriters in the future.

Qualifications

3+ years of property and/or casualty underwriting experience , ideally in construction, builders risk, or renewable energy. Familiarity with renewable power and alternative energy markets, as well as conventional power, is a plus. Established network of brokers and distribution partners in relevant sectors. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Willingness to travel for marketing and relationship-building. Entrepreneurial mindset and excitement to help build a practice.
