What to Expect
Tesla's Manufacturing Test Engineering group is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Technical Program Manager to drive the development of custom manufacturing equipment with mechanical, electrical, controls, and software engineers. As a Technical Program Manager, you will be part of the team responsible for developing manufacturing testing equipment for all Tesla products. This is an exciting role where you will interact with product designers, firmware engineers, manufacturing engineers, supply chain, and production teams. You will interface with cross-functional teams to identify and define product constraints, key change items, and help develop, validate, and implement custom manufacturing equipment across various factories worldwide. You will communicate project status, highlight schedule risks, motivate teams to meet deadlines, and develop recovery plans in case of project delays. What You'll Do
Accountable for creating, maintaining, and communicating schedules and plans for developing and deploying custom manufacturing equipment to meet start of production and ramp-up goals. Drive actions with internal and cross-functional teams to complete projects within time, budget, and resource constraints. Track project progress and report on status, blockers, and changes to plans, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders. Identify creative and timely solutions to key program challenges. Manage project resources and balance priorities across different programs. Develop systems and best practices for communication and change management. Ensure accurate documentation and data consistency across Tesla systems (Confluence, JIRA, SharePoint, Polarion, SolidWorks PDM). What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, proven hands-on ability, or equivalent experience. Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with responsibility for managing change. Experience creating, maintaining, and communicating schedules. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail. Understanding of design cycles and problem-solving processes. Exposure to electrical test instruments (DMMs, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, etc.) is a plus. Compensation and Benefits
