What to Expect
The Tesla Camera Team designs and integrates camera modules and cleaning solutions across all Tesla vehicle platforms. The team collaborates across mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and manufacturing engineering disciplines. We are seeking talented Mechanical Design Engineers to help realize this ambitious vision, emphasizing creative problem-solving and technical rigor. What You'll Do
Support the integration and performance of sensor cleaning systems, primarily for camera systems on autonomous and electric vehicles. Design and validate cleaning systems (nozzles, air jets, wipers) for ADAS sensors, and develop creative design solutions to support Autopilot requirements. Collaborate with Autopilot, electrical, and body engineering teams. Develop system-level integration with sensor housings and create specifications and test plans to validate product durability. Investigate various cleaning technologies and validate them on fleet vehicles. Fabricate prototypes, iterate rapidly, and advance concepts to volume production. Manage suppliers to ensure project execution aligns with design specifications and timelines. What You'll Bring
At least 3 years of experience in automotive ADAS or cleaning system development. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience. Hands-on experience prototyping and validating next-generation automotive cleaning technologies. Ability to present, document, and educate others on cleaning performance, integration challenges, and serviceability impacts. Proficiency in 3D modeling software (preferably CATIA) for designing parts and assemblies. Experience drafting engineering drawings and conducting tolerance stack-up analysis (GD&T is a bonus). Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Compensation and Benefits
