Location: East Chicago, IN Industry: Manufacturing / Industrial Pay: $80,000

About Our Client: Addison Group is partnering with a leading manufacturing organization to hire a Sr. HR Generalist. Our client is navigating a challenging labor environment and is seeking a confident HR professional who can effectively manage union relationships, guide managers, and contribute to culture improvement. Job Description: The Sr. HR Generalist will act as the primary on-site HR resource, supporting both union and non-union staff. The role will focus heavily on employee and labor relations, policy enforcement, manager coaching, and day-to-day HR operations. This is a critical position aimed at driving consistency, compliance, and employee engagement at one of the organization's most demanding facilities. Key Responsibilities: Serve as the primary HR contact for plant employees and management Handle employee relations issues, coach managers, and conduct investigations Support performance management, discipline, and separation procedures Manage attendance and coordinate leaves of absence (STD, LTD, etc.) Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and policy implementation Maintain employee records and support compliance efforts Collaborate with corporate HR and plant leadership on training and development initiatives Foster a positive employee experience while enforcing workplace expectations Qualifications: 47+ years of HR Generalist experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting 3+ years of direct labor relations experience in a unionized environment Proven ability to work in high-pressure, morale-challenged environments Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and influence managers Experience with any HRIS system (UKG preferred) Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required for highly experienced candidates Perks: Competitive base salary with bonus potential Opportunity to impact culture and build leadership credibility Direct access to HR and plant leadership for decision-making and strategic input Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
