The Library & Information Services Manager, in collaboration with the Department Leader, develops and leads the strategies and metrics for library & information services across the organization. This role will report up through the Department Leader. The Library & Information Services Manager will participate in the oversight for the management of the AdventHealth Library strategy for the organization as well as copyright related permissions and licensing. The Library & Information Services Manager will serve as a subject matter expert to support the design and implementation of library and information services across the enterprise. This role aligns team efforts; builds accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results; determines and ensures technologies, processes, and methodologies are implemented; resolves escalated issues as appropriate; sets standards and measures progress. Fosters the development of work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines; obtains and distributes resources and identifies and addresses improvement opportunities. Develops standards and best practices for standardizing, obtaining, and reporting usage data, securing access for educational content across the AdventHealth system. Serves as a centralized, system-wide resource for providing research, managing library resources, providing library education, reviewing copyright requests, and optimizing the AdventHealth Library platform and services. This role in collaboration with the System Director, Library & Information Services will be responsible for managing the library's best practices. This role will be working closely with various AdventHealth Corporate departments and work with local AdventHealth facilities. The Library & Information Services Manager will provide structure and guidance to enhance library services across the continuum. The Library & Information Services Manager will be responsible for the development of the Standardized Usage Statistics Harvesting Initiative (SUSHI) Protocol, and understand Discovery and OpenAthens technologies. This role creates and leads development of processes for the Market recommendation for information needs/subscriptions. The Library & Information Services Manager will guide new acquisitions and existing sites in the process of securing licensed content for the AH Library. The Library & Information Services Manager works with the Markets on pricing and subscription options. The Library & Information Services Manager facilitates collaborative relationships with others to optimize system library services, including the system library platform, provide high-quality, cost-effective information services, and provides leadership and management in the delivery of library and knowledge-based information services to meet the service area needs for clinical, research, and management information. The Value You Will Bring To The Team
Directs, implements, and manages knowledge-based information services for the system library. Provides technical and administrative support for these services. Serves as consultant for knowledge-based clinical references for AdventHealth facilities.
Develops, implements, and manages projects in knowledge-based information, informatics, and the internet.
Assists with resource acquisition and evaluation by: maintaining advanced knowledge of best practices and emerging trends in library information systems, information literacy, health information resources, copyright, medical education, and the role of technology; ensuring the current resource offerings are evidence-based, contemporary and in support of AdventHealths mission.
Hires, trains, and guides library & information services staff in the provision of library and knowledge-based systems services.
Provides library & information services to all AdventHealth employees.
Maintains the system online catalog, the order of records/receipts, and subscriptions for AdventHealth facilities to ensure accurate and secure access.
Assists with evaluating new methods and emerging knowledge-based information technology to determine compatibility, cost effectiveness, and potential benefit to AdventHealth. Plans, analyzes and evaluates library services on an ongoing basis to ensure that information needs are being met and improve existing services or implement new services.
Provides literature unavailable in the library through a nation-wide system of inter-library borrowing or on-line searches.
Directs the daily operations of the AdventHealth library, manages professional staff, and supports local librarians with subscriptions and/or technical assistance with specific holdings.
Provides orientation for nurse residency programs and graduate medical education programs and instructs users on library services, on-line databases, reference tools, policies and procedures, and copyright compliance.
Oversees the maintenance and enhancement of library's operating systems and monitors operations.
Maintains the system copyright permission repository for copyright permissions obtained for the system or local level.
Maintains good relations with other departments/teams to enhance services and ensure linkage of services through individual, team, and group interaction with local, regional, and system level.
Manages the development and promotion of library resources by developing new library promotion strategies and materials of resources, such as new handouts, websites, displays, video education, or campaigns.
Qualifications The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed: Masters in library and information sciences Required
3 in a health sciences library Required
Management and leadership skills
Knowledge of compliance and regulations related to library information sciences
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Ability to present ideas effectively to large groups and executives
Demonstrated ability to motivate individuals to achieve higher levels of performance that are in alignment with the organizations vision and values
Demonstrated ability to prioritize responsibilities, measure progress and validate accountabilities against those metrics
Working knowledge of copyright law
Ability to adapt quickly to change and to coordinate efforts across multiple stakeholders
