This is an inpatient position within Saint Francis/St. Mary’s hospitals Rehabilitation Services department. The Entry Level Occupational Therapist (Occupational Therapist 1) reports to the Clinical Supervisor and provides both direct and indirect patient care services. The therapist works primarily with adult and geriatric patients from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. The therapist may also work with infants, children and/or adolescents if pediatric competencies and clinical experience are present. Under general direction and upon receipt of licensed provider written referrals, the therapist plans and administers a full range of occupational therapy services for patients with a variety of physical and cognitive impairments and functional limitations. Services include patient evaluations, establishment of therapeutic intervention goals, development and implementation of intervention plans utilizing occupational therapy techniques. The therapist demonstrates practice competence with routine presentations and may receive mentoring or supervision in high acuity settings or with complex cases. The therapist maintains all applicable patient records, may supervise support personnel, seeks ongoing education, and participates in compliance, quality, safety, and process‑improvement initiatives. Salary & Benefits

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. The salary range for this position is $53.20–$71.79 per hour. MS or MA degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program. Less than one year of licensed clinical practice experience. Minimum one full‑time fieldwork education experience in an acute care hospital or acute rehabilitation setting. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Ability to recognize signs of distress. Basic computer skills including use within Epic electronic medical record. Good interpersonal, time‑management, problem‑solving and self‑initiation skills. Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations. Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program. Prior experience providing patient care in acute care hospital and acute rehab/IRF patient care setting. Prior experience working on an interdisciplinary health provider team. License / Certification

Possession of or proven eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist by the Occupational Therapy Board of California. Possession of or proven eligibility for AHA BLS certification. About UCSF
