Cost Engineering Team The engineer is responsible for driving financial visibility, cost efficiency, and long‑term economic sustainability across our cloud infrastructure. We blend engineering, data analysis, and financial insight to ensure every technical decision upholds availability while preserving cost efficiency.

What You’ll Do

With the support of your team’s tech lead and manager, break down larger projects into individual tasks, deliver them in multiple phases, and collaborate with others to ensure timely delivery of your work.

Support peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design & analytics, participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that properly consider risks and trade‑offs.

Support the operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting "keep the lights on" & on‑call efforts.

Contribute to a sense of community on your team by engaging in growth and development activities such as participation in the interview process.

What We Look For

1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.

Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems and proficiency in Python or Kotlin.

Familiarity with the building blocks of distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.

Experience building out cost visibility via tagging.

Experience creating cost savings opportunities via cost analysis.

Ability to take a simple problem or business scenario into a solution that interacts with multiple software components, and execute on it by writing clear, well‑tested, extensible code.

Comfort navigating a large code base, debugging others’ code, and providing feedback via code reviews.

Ownership of growth and proactive seeking of feedback from team, manager, stakeholders.

Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with a global engineering team.

Equivalently practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Compensation & Benefits Pay Grade – L; Equity Grade – 6.

Base pay range: $160,000 – $210,000 per year for CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT; $142,000 – $192,000 for all other U.S. states.
