BCS Allegient is currently hiring for a Sr. Energy Analyst to join our team at the Department of Energy in Washington, D.C.
Salary range: $115K-$130K dependent on years of experience
Position Overview The Senior Energy Analyst will provide advanced analytical, technical, and research support to a Department of Energy contract. This role is designed for an experienced professional with strong subject‑matter expertise in energy analysis, data interpretation, and policy or program support.
The successful candidate will work both independently and collaboratively to conduct complex analyses, oversee data mining efforts, and deliver clear, actionable insights to senior-level stakeholders within the Department. This position requires strong judgment, technical depth, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively to leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct advanced technical and analytical assessments related to energy programs, policies, or initiatives
Lead and oversee data mining activities, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and relevance
Perform research and analysis to support program decision‑making and strategic planning
Develop reports, briefings, and presentations for senior‑level Department leadership
Translate complex technical findings into clear, concise insights for non‑technical audiences
Collaborate with cross‑functional team members, including analysts and program staff
Work independently to manage assignments, timelines, and deliverables
Support program reviews, evaluations, and compliance with DOE requirements
Provide subject‑matter expertise and guidance to junior staff as needed
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in energy, engineering, economics, policy, data analytics, or a related field (an advanced degree may be substituted for years of experience)
5–10 years of professional experience in energy analysis, technical research, or program support
Demonstrated experience conducting technical analysis and data‑driven research
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively with senior‑level stakeholders
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Experience working independently in a structured, deadline‑driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a related discipline
Experience supporting federal government or DOE programs
Familiarity with energy policy, regulatory frameworks, or federal energy initiatives
Experience overseeing or mentoring analysts or junior staff
Proficiency with data analysis tools, databases, or visualization platforms
