About The Team And Role At eBay, we’re reimagining commerce through innovation and connection. eBay Live is our interactive, real‑time shopping experience — combining live video, community engagement, and marketplace trust to help buyers and sellers connect in powerful new ways. We’re building a data‑driven platform that learns from every interaction, fuels personalization, and ensures seamless performance at scale. To accelerate this vision, we’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the telemetry and instrumentation strategy for eBay Live.

As the Senior Product Manager for eBay Live Telemetry Instrumentation, you’ll define the vision and roadmap for how data is captured, structured, and activated across eBay Live. You’ll build the telemetry systems that help us understand user journeys, power personalization, enhance discoverability, and ensure platform stability. You’ll partner deeply with engineering, data science, and analytics teams — not just to define what to measure, but how to measure it. You will provide technical specifications and implementation requirements that enable engineering teams to build accurate, scalable, and consistent instrumentation.

What You Will Accomplish

Launch a unified telemetry framework across eBay Live platforms (web, iOS, Android).

Deliver technical instrumentation specifications for multiple new feature launches.

Build and validate data signals for user journeys, personalization, and discoverability.

Deploy real-time monitoring dashboards to track engagement, stability, and performance.

Enable every Live team to make confident, data-informed product decisions.

Own the telemetry strategy for eBay Live across mobile, web, and backend systems.

Own the data governance strategy, ensuring compliance with company requirements with respect to data archiving and deletion.

Define detailed technical specifications and requirements for engineering teams to implement telemetry events, logging, and metrics.

Design and prioritize data signals that reveal user journeys and drive insights into engagement, retention, and conversion.

Power personalization and discoverability by ensuring behavioral signals fuel recommendations and live-stream discovery systems.

Monitor platform performance by defining metrics for latency, page speed, error rates, and stability across Live experiences.

What You Will Bring

6+ years of product management experience, with a focus on telemetry, analytics, or data platform products.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field (MBA or advanced degree a plus).

Proven success defining event-based instrumentation frameworks and partnering with engineering on implementation.

Strong technical background with working knowledge of data pipelines, SDKs, APIs, and observability systems (e.g., Amplitude, Datadog, Snowflake, Databricks, Grafana).

Experience designing telemetry to support personalization, recommendations, or content discovery systems.

Ability to translate business and analytical needs into clear, technical instrumentation requirements.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
