Job Type:
Full-Time
About Pearson At Pearson, we are committed to helping people make progress in their lives through learning. We create innovative and accessible educational products and services that foster personal and professional growth. We are looking for a passionate and skilled Product Director (IC) to join our team and drive the development of cutting‑edge educational products.
About the Job We embrace the SVPG Product Operating Model by empowering our product teams to solve hard problems – customer problems and business problems – in ways that our customers love yet work for our business. Our product teams are cross‑functional, durable and generally comprised of a product manager, product designer, tech lead and a program manager (4‑in‑a‑box model). The product manager is accountable for ensuring the solution is valuable, viable, usable and feasible while collaborating closely with designer and engineers to deliver solutions to market. Shipping is necessary, but we also hold teams accountable to results; the product manager must drive outcomes and work across the organization to achieve them. This is an individual‑contributor role that requires strong influence, data‑driven decision making and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.
Necessary Qualifications
Proven track record over multiple years as an individual contributor product manager responsible for value and viability of solutions
Proven ability to go deep and quickly learn new domains, as well as solid understanding of all major parts of the business
Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery
Demonstrated ability to learn multiple functional areas of business – engineering, design, finance, sales, or marketing
Demonstrated ability to solve hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well‑structured, data‑informed, written narrative
Proven ability to engage with both individual contributors and leaders of all levels in constructive and collaborative relationships
Responsible for assisting with quarterly strategic planning, defining OKRs and developing a roadmap
Proven ability to own a strategic pillar, and develop and get buy‑in for a product strategy based on that pillar
Compensation & Benefits The minimum full‑time salary range is between
$165,000 – $185,000
for this position, influenced by factors such as skill set and experience. This role is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program, and additional benefits are available. Qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, ethnicity, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, national origin, protected veteran status, disability status or any other group protected by law. Pearson is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a member of E‑Verify.
Applications will be accepted through December 22nd; this window may be extended depending on business needs.
