Job Type Full-Time

About Pearson At Pearson, we are committed to helping people make progress in their lives through learning. We create innovative and accessible educational products and services that foster personal and professional growth.

About the Job We embrace the SVPG Product Operating Model by empowering our product teams to solve hard problems—customer problems and business problems—in ways that our customers love yet work for our business. Our product teams are cross‑functional, durable and generally comprised of a product manager, product design, tech lead and a program manager (4‑in‑a‑box model). The product manager must contribute a solid knowledge of the various constraints of the business such as marketing, sales, support, finance, legal and privacy, deep knowledge of our users and customers, data about how our customers engage with our products, and industry trends and the competitive landscape. The product manager collaborates closely with product designers and engineers to discover effective solutions, deliver them to market and hold teams accountable to results. Shipping is necessary but not sufficient; we look for product managers that are not afraid of signing up for results, even when this means they have to work through others to achieve the necessary outcomes. This is an individual‑contributor role that requires influencing teammates, stakeholders and key executives through data and logic.

Necessary Qualifications

Proven track record over multiple years as an individual contributor product manager responsible for value and viability of solutions

Proven ability to go deep and quickly learn new domains, as well as solid understanding of all major parts of the business

Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery

Demonstrated ability to learn multiple functional areas of business—engineering, design, finance, sales, or marketing

Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well‑structured, data‑informed, written narrative

Proven ability to engage with both individual contributors and leaders of all levels in constructive and collaborative relationships

Responsible for assisting with quarterly strategic planning, defining OKRs and developing a roadmap

Proven ability to own a strategic pillar, and develop and get buy‑in for a product strategy based on that pillar

Compensation Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. The pay range for this position is $165,000 – $185,000. The position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program and benefits details are available via company resources.

Application Deadline Applications will be accepted through December 22nd (may be extended depending on business needs).

Equal Opportunity Employer Pearson is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a member of E‑Verify. Employment decisions are based on qualifications, merit and business need. Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, ethnicity, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, national origin, protected veteran status, disability status or any other group protected by law. We actively seek protect‑veteran and disabled candidates under VEVRAA and Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act.
