Evinova, a global health tech business and fully‑owned subsidiary of AstraZeneca Group, is looking for an experienced Senior Digital Health Consultant to partner with Pharmaceutical R&D customers to shape, evaluate, and implement digital health solutions that accelerate clinical development and enhance patient outcomes. This role blends strategy consulting, solution design, and delivery leadership, with accountability for P&L ownership, business case development, and value realization.

Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership & Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to R&D leaders across clinical development, clinical operations, and medical. Shape digital strategies, develop operating models, and roadmaps that align with the development portfolio and individual assets.

P&L Ownership: Own engagement‑level P&L, including pricing, margin management, backlog forecasting, and utilization planning. Drive account growth through proposal development, upsell, and cross‑sell.

Digital Health Strategy & Solutioning: Define problem statements, solution options, vendor landscapes, and selection criteria for digital solutions including patient recruitment, remote data collection and monitoring, ePRO/eCOA, digital biomarkers, and patient engagement platforms.

Protocol Development Support: Contribute to study protocol design where digital tools are used (e.g., endpoint rationale, sensor selection, sampling frequency, feasibility, burden, data flows, and risk management). Ensure alignment with therapeutic area strategy and regulatory expectations.

Protocol feasibility and execution: Utilise tools to support clinical development and operations teams in optimising protocols through the use of AI driven solutions to minimise cost, accelerate timelines, improve patient and site experience and minimise environmental impact without impacting on scientific quality.

Evaluation & Implementation: Lead pilots and scaled implementations of digital health technologies, including feasibility studies, validation frameworks, vendor due diligence, interoperability planning, data governance, and organisational change.

Business Case & Value Realization: Build robust business cases (benefits, costs, risks, scenarios) and define measurable value frameworks (cycle‑time reduction, data quality, patient retention, site burden, cost avoidance). Track and report realised value post‑implementation.

Regulatory & Compliance Alignment: Ensure solutions align with GxP, ICH‑GCP, GDPR/CCPA, and relevant regulatory guidance on software and AI.

Product, Data, Analytics & Platforms: Partner with Evinova product, data science, science and engineering teams to define and communicate new product requirements based on strategy, including data capture, integration, and analysis plans for sensor/ePRO data, including data standards and quality controls.

Change Management & Adoption: Lead stakeholder engagement, training, communications, and readiness activities to ensure adoption across clinical development, clinical operations, sites, and patients.

Thought Leadership & Practice Building: Publish results of work in partnership with client teams, develop white papers, and conference content; refine delivery methodologies and accelerators.

People Leadership: Identify and nurture key talent to develop a group of industry leading digital health consultants.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 8–12+ years in management/healthcare consulting, with 5+ years focused on digital health within Pharma R&D (clinical development and / or clinical operations, or biomarker strategy).

P&L Accountability: Demonstrated ownership of engagement or portfolio P&L, including pricing, margin optimization, and revenue forecasting.

Protocol Involvement: Hands‑on involvement contributing to or reviewing clinical protocols and operational plans where digital tools inform endpoints, assessments, or data collection.

Digital Health Delivery: Proven track record evaluating and implementing digital health solutions (e.g., wearables, sensors, ePRO/eCOA, DHT‑enabled endpoints, trial delivery capabilities, patient apps/portals).

Business Case & Value Realization: Strong capability in financial modeling, benefits quantification, hypothesis‑to‑value tracking, and post‑implementation value realization reporting.

Regulatory/Quality Knowledge: Solid understanding of ICH‑GCP, GxP, SaMD, FDA/EMA digital endpoints guidance, privacy and data protection requirements.

Technical Fluency: Understanding of technical product management, data architecture, interoperability, data standards, and analytics considerations for high‑frequency sensor data.

Consulting Core Skills: Engagement management, structured problem‑solving, executive communication, stakeholder management, and change management.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, engineering, data science, or related field; advanced degree (MS, MPH, PhD, PharmD, MBA) preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Therapeutic Area Exposure: Experience with one or more TAs such as CVRM, Oncology, Respiratory/Immunology, or Neuroscience, especially where digital endpoints are emerging.

Technical Landscape Expertise: Familiarity with leading eCOA, sensor/wearable, trial design and delivery, and patient engagement vendors; experience running RFPs and technical due diligence. Strong AI capabilities including demonstrated understanding of the role AI will play in drug discovery and development.

Validation & Qualification: Experience with analytical/clinical validation of digital measures, human factors engineering, and usability studies.

Product Mindset: Background in product management for digital tools or platforms used in trials or patient support.

Global Programs: Delivery experience across multi‑country studies, understanding site/patient variability and localization needs.

Core Competencies
