HVAC Service Team Lead – Washington, DC (Remote) BGIS Integrated Technical Services (ITS) is seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Service Team Lead to join our growing team in Washington, DC. (Remote) If you’re a seasoned HVAC professional with leadership experience and a passion for delivering exceptional service, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact with a global leader in facility management.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Rate: $47.00 - $51.70/hour ($91,760 - $107,536 annually based off 40 Hours work week)

Overtime authorized with supervisor approval

Per diem: $55 per day and lodging will be provided for authorized out-of-town travel and service

Paid Time Off: Start with 48 hours, increasing to 168 hours with tenure

Paid Holidays: 7 annually (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas)

401(k) Match: 5% employer contribution

$3,500 cash bonus

40 additional hours of floating holidays

$1,250 toward technical training reimbursement

About the Role As the HVAC Service Team Lead, you’ll support the Regional Service Manager in overseeing commercial HVAC operations across multiple client sites. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for escalations, guide a team of technicians, and ensure high‑quality service delivery. This role combines hands‑on technical work with leadership responsibilities, contributing to business growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operations

Lead and support a team of HVAC service technicians

Act as the primary escalation contact for service issues

Provide daily direction and technical guidance to team members

Assist with dispatching and scheduling service and maintenance tasks

Review completed service and repair invoices

Contribute to process improvements and SOPs

Complete administrative follow‑up tasks (approx. 25% of weekly duties)

Client Service

Maintain professional relationships with clients and internal teams

Respond to service requests and resolve issues promptly

Conduct monthly audits to ensure service quality and compliance

Represent BGIS positively and uphold company values

Technical HVAC Work

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance across multiple facilities

Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems, ice machines, and refrigeration units

Respond to emergency service calls and routine maintenance requests

Document work in service management systems and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards

Recommend enhancements and repairs based on site observations

Qualifications & Experience

8+ years of commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience

3+ years in a supervisory or lead technician role

Proven ability to manage teams, conduct audits, and ensure safety and quality compliance

Experience with preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and equipment changeouts

Familiarity with national accounts or multi‑site operations (preferred)

Certifications

EPA Universal Certification (required)

Valid HVAC Journeyman License (preferred)

Additional certifications such as NATE or HVAC Excellence are a plus

Physical Requirements

Ability to climb ladders while carrying up to 30 lbs

Lift up to 75 lbs and work in confined spaces

Frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, and kneeling

Consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Ability to travel between client sites

Additional Requirements

Valid driver’s license

Ability to pass drug, background, and driving record checks

Meet enhanced security clearance requirements

Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts as needed

Skills & Abilities

Proficiency in servicing, installing, and troubleshooting:

Commercial HVAC systems

Refrigeration systems and ice machines

Chillers, cooling towers, water source heat pumps

Building Automation Systems or Building Management Systems

Strong customer service and communication skills

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Familiarity with light commercial equipment

Experience with industry software (e.g., ServiceTitan, FastField, ServiceChannel – preferred but not required)
