AVP, Credit Analytics and Reporting – Regulatory Response
Synchrony is seeking an experienced professional to develop and execute analysis and reporting of credit performance in response to regulatory requests and requirements.
Role Summary The analyst will acquire a strong understanding of credit management concepts and utilize data visualization tools to quantify various credit metrics, creating actionable insights. This role engages with regulatory reporting, controllership, credit strategies, and portfolio management teams to provide subject‑matter expertise on account‑level data analytics and performance monitoring.
Essential Responsibilities
Interpret and deliver regulatory reporting requirements, manage external requests, and extract and validate data from multiple warehouses to support critical reports.
Support the establishment and ongoing enhancement of credit performance monitoring through collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
Conduct analytical reviews and validations of regulatory reports to ensure balances, variances, and trends are reasonable and properly explained.
Utilize current data visualization tools to create portfolio performance insights that can drill down into key drivers.
Support process governance, mitigate risk through documentation, validations, and automate processes using available technology or exploring new tools.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in analytics, financial reporting, or financial data analysis; or 8 years of experience in retail, business, or private‑label credit analytics.
2+ years of experience in Credit, Collections, Risk, Finance, or a related Data Analytics role.
2+ years of experience with SAS, SQL, or Python programming.
1+ year of experience with Tableau, SAS Visual Analytics, or a similar tool.
Desired Characteristics
Strong experience with SAS, SQL, or Python.
Experience handling complex, large data sets from multiple sources to support analytics.
Proficiency in Tableau, SAS Visual Analytics, or similar tools.
Demonstrated creativity, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
Ability to draw conclusions and provide insights from data analysis.
Multitasking capability and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment.
Experience with account‑level databases such as RDG, CDCI, and CLBP2.
Collaboration experience with cross‑functional credit, risk, and finance teams.
Familiarity with data lake technologies (Hadoop, Python, Hive, etc.).
Advanced Excel and project management skills.
Hyperion experience.
Compensation Grade/Level: 10 | Salary Range:
75,000.00 – 130,000.00
USD per annum (subject to market adjustments in CA, NY Metro, and Seattle). Eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Eligibility Requirements
Must be 18 years or older.
Must have a high‑school diploma or equivalent.
Must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation, and provide fingerprints during onboarding.
Must satisfy Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
