Assistant General Manager

to support our leadership team and oversee daily operations. Named a James Beard Foundation semifinalist for “Best New Restaurant,” we are committed to culinary excellence and delivering an unforgettable guest experience.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader who can work alongside the General Manager to uphold a standard of excellence while cultivating a positive, educational, and fun work environment. You will play a key role in ensuring operational efficiency, staff development, and exceptional hospitality.

Responsibilities

Operational Support: Partner with the General Manager to oversee daily front‑of‑house operations during brunch and dinner services, maintaining Chickadee’s renowned service standards.

Administrative Assistance: Assist with administrative duties, including staff scheduling, payroll, inventory, and other tasks to manage costs and maximize profitability.

Guest Satisfaction: Ensure guest satisfaction by proactively addressing any concerns, resolving issues professionally, and creating a welcoming and memorable dining experience.

Team Development: Lead educational pre‑shift meetings, support ongoing training, and maintain training materials to ensure the team is knowledgeable and professional.

Culture & Morale: Help to instill and promote Chickadee’s company culture, and contribute to building strong team morale and a positive work environment.

Flexibility: Work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate business levels.

Hands‑On Leadership: Act as a hands‑on leader, assisting staff with service roles when needed and providing a strong floor presence during peak hours.

Candidate Profile

Proven Experience: A minimum of 2‑3 years of restaurant management or supervisory experience, preferably in a high‑volume, full‑service restaurant.

Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to coach, inspire, and motivate team members.

Problem‑Solving: Excellent problem‑solving skills, with the ability to think on your feet and make sound decisions under pressure.

Customer‑Focused: A deep passion for hospitality and a commitment to providing an exceptional guest experience.

Knowledgeable: Familiarity with restaurant operations, including POS systems, inventory management, and health and safety regulations.
