Senior Environmental Engineer – Stormwater (Minneapolis) Burns & McDonnell is seeking a highly motivated Stormwater Engineer to join our Environmental Engineering team. The successful candidate will design and support environmental systems that meet client and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Design environmental systems and facilities from concept to completion.

Collaborate with project teams throughout the design and construction phases, adapting plans and drawings to stay within budget and meet regulations.

Research and compile project data as required by managers.

Lead or support civil or environmental projects including earthwork, grading, stormwater, wastewater, remediation, waste management, and restoration.

Prepare reports, studies, and cost estimates to evaluate options.

Manage project scope, budget, schedule, quality, safety, and client expectations.

Provide construction‑phase support and prepare construction quality assurance (CQA) reports.

Train and mentor staff.

Develop and maintain client and regulatory relationships.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in environmental or civil engineering, or a related ABET‑accredited program, with 7+ years of consulting experience.

PE licensure preferred.

Available for approximately 15% travel.

Strong knowledge of environmental engineering techniques and procedures.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Analytical problem‑solving and critical thinking abilities.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and environmental analysis programs.

Detail‑oriented with strong teamwork, organization, and facilitation skills.

Compensation $140,000 – $200,000 per year, plus eligibility for a discretionary year‑end incentive bonus.
