About this Role:
The Health Information Management Division (HIMD) at the California DHCS is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Information Technology Supervisor II within the Data Exchange Branch.
DHCS is the backbone of California’s health care safety net, helping millions of low‑income and disabled Californians each day. We recognize the critical role that data plays in driving our success and enabling informed decision‑making. DHCS is on the leading edge and has one of the largest data and information management programs within the California Health and Human Services Agency.
This position is part of the Health Information Management Division (HIMD) in the Enterprise Data and Information Management (EDIM), specifically under the Data Exchange Branch (DEB) in the Data Planning and Specification Section (DPSS). Under general direction of the Information Technology Manager I, the Information Technology Supervisor II serves as an advocate of the Enterprise Data Management Strategy (EDMS) and supports staff with projects and efforts related to the modeling and architecture of the Department’s data assets. Tasks involve collaboration with DHCS stakeholders, internal and external, in order to support the Department’s efforts in properly structuring and storing data assets. The incumbent will be responsible for directing and supervising staff in duties related to the EDMS, such as applying data vocabulary standards, ensuring data assets are stored in well‑designed data stores, and that all business processes and activities align with DHCS Data Architecture standards to support the Department in aligning with Federal, State, and Local law and legislation. Support the Department’s vision to adopt and maintain enterprise data modeling and design processes and standards, including the establishment, maintenance, and use of a Medi‑Cal enterprise data model and enterprise data modeling tools.
This position is subject to the Department's Conflict of Interest Code and filing a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) when assuming office, annually while in office, and upon leaving office.
