ROLE: Senior Director of Accounting/Corporate Controller

Location: Cypress, CA

Reports To: VP of Accounting & Finance

Salary/Bonus: $185K$235K

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Hours: 9:00 AM 6:00 PM

Team Size: 4 direct reports; 15+ indirect reports

WHY THIS ROLE IS OPEN

New role created to strengthen accounting leadership and oversee accounting operations, controls, compliance, and close processes across a multi-location organization.

IDEAL PROFILE (AVATAR)

• Senior accounting leader with 8+ years experience , 3+ years leadership
• Expertise in AR, AP, GL, Cash, and month-end close
• Proven experience closing books in 7 days
• CPA preferred ; public company experience strongly preferred
• Experience in multi-unit, retail, hospitality, or entertainment environments preferred
• Stable employment history (no frequent moves)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead teams across AR, AP, GL, and Cash operations
• Own end-to-end monthly close , reconciliations, and close governance
• Maintain strong internal controls, compliance, and audit readiness
• Oversee cash operations , store reconciliations, and cash pickups
• Serve as finance systems owner , drive automation, and standardization
• Manage tax compliance and external accounting partners
• Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, IT, and Operations
