Shipping Clerk

Job Summary:

You will be responsible for processing all outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently. This includes generating shipping labels, preparing documentation, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that packages are correctly handled and dispatched. Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and proficiency in shipping software are essential. Responsibilities:

• Process and document all outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy.
• Create shipping labels and prepare necessary shipping documents (bills of lading, manifests).
• Schedule and coordinate with shipping carriers for timely pickups.
• Verify package contents against order details before dispatch.
• Inspect shipments for proper packaging and condition.
• Track shipments and manage shipping logs.
• Communicate with warehouse staff, sales teams, and carriers regarding shipping status.
• Adhere to all company safety guidelines and use appropriate PPE.
• Assist with physical tasks, including some lifting and moving of packages.
• Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics department.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in a shipping clerk role or a similar logistics position.
• Proficiency with shipping software (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS) and MS Office.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Experience with manual lifting and basic material handling.
• Understanding of shipping procedures and carrier requirements.
• Commitment to safety in the workplace and consistent use of PPE.
