Job Summary
County of Los Angeles Department of Health Services is seeking a qualified Dentist to provide professional dental care at a County hospital or other health facility. Responsibilities
Perform prophylaxes and instruct patients on proper dental care. Conduct dental examinations and determine appropriate dental care and treatment. Maintain clinic records and patient charts. Request examinations, analyses, and x‑rays; review reports, records, and patient progress. Administer anesthetics and treat infections and diseases of the teeth, jaws, and gums. Participate in staff and scientific conferences. Accept dental emergencies and administer post‑operative treatment. Provide patients with dental appliances. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: Doctor of Dental Surgery or Doctor of Dental Medicine from a World Health Organization–approved dental school required by the California Dental Practice Act. California license to practice dentistry issued by the Dental Board of California. Radiation Safety License issued by the Dental Board of California OR certificate of compliance from an approved Board course in radiation safety (graduated from an ADA accredited program after 1980). Physical Class II – light physical effort, occasional light lifting up to 10 lbs, light bending, stooping, or squatting. Desirable Qualifications: Certification in General Practice Residency (GPR) specialty approved by the American Dental Association. Additional Information
Appointees may be required to work any shift, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Available shift: Any. Fair Chance Initiative
