What To Expect Tesla is looking for an experienced and motivated senior electrical designer to join our Construction Design team in Fremont, CA. As part of the EPC group, this team is focused on designing, collaborating, and building the first home of Optimus while continue to support critical vehicle programs. The electrical design team is responsible to create and maintain CAD models of the power distribution system infrastructure and tool equipment. This position is for full‑time, on‑site.
What You’ll Do
Manage electrical Revit contents (templates and families) and Revit views
Prepare electrical permit and construction drawings: power plan drawings, underground and aboveground raceway design drawings, grounding layout drawing, lighting layout drawings
Model electrical infrastructure per projects level of detail (LOD) needs and create material take‑offs
Participate in design and construction phases, including schematic design, design development, construction documents and close‑out
Collaborate with multi‑discipline design team to deliver clash‑free design and models
Perform regular field visits and collaborate with construction team to reflect construction feasibility and value engineering in design and models
Assist reviewing RFIs and submittals during construction administration and produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings in Revit
What You’ll Bring
6+ years of experience in electrical infrastructure design. Electrical construction experience is a plus
Strong desire to be part of a world‑class team focused on achieving amazing results
Awareness of NEC & CBC codes
Proficiency in Revit MEP, Navisworks and general awareness of other BIM software; in‑depth knowledge of AIA level of detail
Familiarity with ANSI or equivalent industry standards electrical symbols
Working knowledge or experience in developing construction drawings (LOD 350) and fabrication drawings (LOD 400); experience in developing as‑built drawing (LOD 500) is a plus

Expected Compensation $112,000 – $168,000 annual salary plus cash and stock awards and benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
