Title:
Instructor for HSE, Computer, Job Readiness
Salary Range:
$50,000 - $55,000
Schedule:
Hybrid post 90-days
Program Overview:
The Barbara Kleiman Men’s Shelter is a 200-bed, 24/7 emergency shelter for homeless men. The program will serve both individuals diagnosed with mental illness and/or substance use disorders and individuals who are employed/seeking employment. Our comprehensive services include case management, individual and group counseling, mental health care and primary medical care, recreational activities, occupational therapy, employment services and job readiness services, and housing
placement assistance.
The Instructor will primarily be responsible for facilitating job readiness workshops for Workforce Development clients residing at the shelter. The instructor will be responsible for curriculum development and working with Vocational Counselor and Job Developer to ensure curriculum in informed by client and employer needs. Instructor will work with Vocational Counselor to ensure clients are completing assigned workshops or training programs in accordance with their career plan.
Facilitate a range of job readiness and soft skills training workshops to prepare clients for employment
Develop and implement new workshops as needed informed by client and employer needs
Provide one‑on‑one job readiness support such as mock interviews and resume/cover letter development
Assist clients with computer skills and on‑line job search
Adapt training methods to accommodate various learning styles and individual participant needs.
Incorporate case studies, role‑playing exercises, and group discussions to facilitate active learning and skill development
Address challenges that may arise with the client in the classroom and address concerns such as behavior, work performance, etc.
Document attendance and client progress in Salesforce and other systems required by funding sources
Document all interactions in the clients’ record in Salesforce
Qualifications:
Minimum High School Diploma, B.A. degree strongly preferred
Excellent facilitation, presentation and communication skills with the ability to inspire and engage adult learners
Prior experience working with vulnerable populations, including individuals who have been incarcerated, struggled with substance use, or faced mental health challenges
Flexibility in working evenings or weekends as program necessitates
