Job Description:

  • The Phlebotomist II / Patient Services Representative II represents the face of the company to patients visiting for routine health needs or critical health decisions.
  • This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established procedures.
  • The role involves direct patient interaction, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence, and performing procedures in a safe, accurate, and professional manner.
  • The Phlebotomist II demonstrates leadership behaviors with a strong focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information. Assignments may include a doctor s office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and professional work environment.
  • Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
  • Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials and signature post-venipuncture to confirm correct labeling.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Commitment to company policies, dress code, employee health and safety, and guiding principles.
  • Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver s license, and clean driving record, if applicable.
  • Ability to travel and work at multiple locations with minimal notice.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Strong customer focus and effective communication with patients, peers, and supervisors.
Experience:
  • One to three years of phlebotomy experience including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Two years of experience in a patient service center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment highly preferred.
  • Keyboard and data entry experience.
Skills:
  • Phlebotomy and specimen processing.
  • Patient interaction and customer service.
  • Documentation and data accuracy.
  • Time management and multitasking.
Qualification And Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred and required in certain states.
