Job Description:

  • The Patient Services Representative II represents the face of the organization to patients seeking routine healthcare services or diagnostic insights.
  • This role is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while adhering to established procedures and safety standards.
  • The Phlebotomist II maintains direct patient interaction, creates an atmosphere of trust, and explains procedures clearly while performing collections in a safe, accurate, and skillful manner.
  • This position demonstrates leadership behaviors with a strong focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
  • Assignments may include work at a patient service center, physician office, or other locations based on business needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional working environment.
  • Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
  • Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm proper tube labeling in the patient s presence.
  • Maintain required records and documentation accurately and timely.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Ability to provide high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexibility and availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise sound judgment.
  • Reliable transportation with a valid driver s license and clean driving record, if applicable.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours to support multiple locations with minimal notice.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, peers, and supervisors.
  • Commitment to company policies, procedures, dress code, and health and safety standards.
Experience:
  • Three years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a patient service center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard and data entry experience required.
Qualification And Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
