Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent plus 10 years of professional experience to include 3 years of supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with large, complex custom-built applications and reporting systems.

Experience with Extension and Land Grant-related reporting and data collection requirements.

Experience speaking publicly & delivering reports in front of executives and stakeholder groups.

Experience supervising data center operations, staff and projects.

Experience supervising and directing application & web development staff and projects.

Experience managing different teams with different specialties (application dev, web dev, datacenter ops, web tech support, accessibility initiatives).

Position Summary The IT Assistant Director for Web & Information Systems is responsible for providing leadership to the CAES Web Development, Application & Data Development, and Systems and Network Administration Teams as well as representing the unit in project discussions and reports with stakeholders and administration. The Web Development team is broadly responsible for the design, construction and maintenance of many of the organization’s web sites as well as for monitoring the overarching web presences for accessibility compliance, search engine optimization, and quality issues. Systems and Network Administration Team is responsible for the college’s central datacenter operations and for enabling the services which are hosted upon and delivered by the datacenter as well as managing special projects involving network solutions both on and off campus. The Application & Data Development team works with data custodians and consumers to facilitate access to and management of the college’s data through the configuration of off-the-shelf solutions and/or the construction of custom information systems. The individual in this position is responsible for the efficient and effective operation of this team as it delivers services to their respective clientele.

Duties / Responsibilities Leadership, planning, coordination, and facilitation of Web & Information Systems services by coordinating with department-based personnel and other stakeholders as needed. Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with CAES, UGA, University System of Georgia (USG), and external IT entities. Examples include redesign of college websites, representing the unit at CAES dept head or stakeholder meetings, representing CAES OIT on UGA committees, forums and panels.

Collaborate with the OIT Executive Leadership Team in organizational planning activities. Examples include strategic planning initiatives, leadership retreats and unit‑wide gatherings, annual unit goals and priorities.

Establish IT service delivery standards and objectives for division teams (including both technical requirements and client needs). Create reports and statistics on projects. Measure client satisfaction.

Lead continuous improvement of the Web & Information Systems teams by identifying or creating training, leading AI initiatives and integration of new technologies.
