Chief Financial Officer

Chief Financial Officer Location: New York, NY

Base pay range $300,000.00/yr - $450,000.00/yr

Our client, a prominent private real estate development firm is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead all accounting functions across corporate and construction operations. This hands‑on role reports to executive leadership and plays a key part in financial reporting, internal controls, and strategic oversight.

Responsibilities

Oversee all accounting functions: GL, AP/AR, job cost, and reporting

Manage construction accounting: job costing, draws, and WIP

Lead month‑end close and prepare GAAP financials

Coordinate audits and ensure compliance

Mentor and lead a small accounting team

Collaborate across development, construction, and executive teams

Qualifications

12+ years in accounting; CPA preferred

Deep experience in construction and corporate accounting

Strong GAAP knowledge and leadership skills

Proficiency in construction/real estate accounting systems
