We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Director of Sales to lead the expansion of our Away From Home channels. This role will focus on driving sales growth, managing broker, distributor, and customer relationships, and developing business partnerships across the portfolio within non-traditional retail/alternative channels like Airport/Airline, Cruise, College & University, Convenience, Specialty Retail, Online, and Wholesale customers. The ideal candidate will have experience in some or most of these channels, a proven track record in business development, and experience managing cross‑functional teams and brokers to drive results.
Key Responsibilities Sales Strategy, Cross-Functional Alignment and Execution
Lead and implement the sales strategy within key alternative, nontraditional distribution and customer channels.
Build and execute distribution targets, promotion plans, and sales presentations, leveraging data to drive growth.
Manage customer sales forecasts, profitability, and trade spend while ensuring alignment with overall company strategy.
New Business Development
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive growth and expand the client base.
Develop and implement strategies that open new markets and channels, contributing to the overall growth objectives
Attend trade shows as needed and conduct market visits to build relationships with key customers.
Customer and Relationship Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, brokers, and distributors.
Oversee distributor relationships and partner closely with Supply Chain & Operations to monitor inventory management, including promotional plans and SKU performance.
Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners, ensuring timely and accurate updates regarding annual operating plans.
Manage and develop Account Manager and Customer Marketing direct report (s) Broker Management
Oversee and manage broker relationships, ensuring alignment with company and sales channel objectives.
Monitor and evaluate broker performance against established KPIs, driving accountability and ensuring successful execution of sales strategies across all channels
Operations and Cross-Functional Collaboration
Prepare and track sales forecasts, ensuring alignment with budget and customer requirements.
Collaborate with marketing, product development, and finance to align sales efforts with annual operating plan.
Manage monthly budget reconciliation, trade budgets, and cost negotiations at the customer level.
Conduct ROI analysis in partnership with FP&A to ensure the financial viability of customer accounts and promotional campaigns.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience with premium or specialty food brands.
Strong network of contacts within the non-traditional retail, specialty and wholesale industry.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in food business development, with a focus on channels listed and building recurring books of business.
Experience managing brokers and third-party sales agents.
Strong negotiation skills and a track record of-value deals.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing direct reports and fostering team growth.
