Responsibilities

Ensures that systems and procedures are in place for managing operations, equipment, and products in a safe and profitable manner in accordance with company policies, guidelines, and procedures.

Leads operations to meet prescribed productivity and service goals and complies with the terms outlined in the site operating agreement with the client.

Sets goals to drive company continuous improvement efforts.

Develops and maintains productive business relations with vendors, suppliers, and all business partners while ensuring OSHA requirements and all federal and state laws are effectively implemented.

Assists in setting standards appropriate to the client and scope of work.

Develops and manages a system of controls to ensure that service level and operations performance goals are met within prescribed cost, revenue, and profit parameters for operations.

Partners with senior leadership to develop and recommend the annual operating budget.

Responsible for the overall safety and security of the operation.

Develops a team to achieve company and client objectives for the operation.

Actively supports and practices mentoring, succession planning, and management development activities at the site level.

Communicates the mission, vision, and core values to motivate direct reports.

Proactively develops plans and capital requests to ensure an appropriate level of automation/technology to service the client and ensures necessary computer software and hardware are purchased in accordance with Corporate IT policies and guidelines.

Remains knowledgeable regarding changes in hardware and software technology.

Acts as the site-level champion of client relationship management, ensuring clients receive the required level of operational and administrative support, maintaining contact with all functions, responding to requests, and coordinating business reviews.

Promotes a positive relationship with clients by providing excellent customer service.

Participates and assists the Director and other company resources in planning new account strategies, prospecting for new opportunities, generating positive word of mouth, and assisting in the development of quoting rates.

Responsible for developing and maintaining contract pricing in a multi-client environment and ensuring budgeting and pricing activities comply with contract guidelines.

Manages existing programs for maintaining company standards of sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety, and equipment, ensuring team members are trained on any MHE.

Maintains knowledge of relevant new technology and makes recommendations.

Achieves company goals in terms of injury frequency ratings and audits the warehouse for compliance with safety, security, and quality principles and rules.

Works overtime as dictated by business and performs other duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages operations managers.

Skills & Abilities Education and/or Experience

Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

7 years’ experience working in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment.

5 years’ experience in a leadership role in logistics, distribution, or supply chain environment.

Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during warmer and colder months.

Computer Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Demonstrated proficiency in applicable WMS systems.

Language Skills

English (reading, writing, verbal).

Proficiency in business communication at all levels.

Other

Strong attention to detail and accuracy, and accomplish job task in a timely manner.

Good organizational and personnel skills.

Good communication skills, written and oral.

Good leadership, supervision, and planning skills.

Advanced level expertise required in accounting and financial mathematical applications as related to managing a P&L and preparing site/operation budgets.

Motivates self and others to accomplish important objectives despite a complex environment and multiple demands.

Must adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast‑paced work environment.

Ability to develop effective relationships, provide leadership, and integrate diverse organizations and individuals toward unifying objectives.

Physical Demands Occasionally: Handling/fingering, Sitting.

Frequently: Bending.

Constantly: Walking and standing.

Ability to lift, carry and push/pull: 21-50 pounds; reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.

Work Environment The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. The employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
