Manufacturing Design Engineer – Mechanical
This role focuses on mechanical design and manufacturing for high‑voltage electromechanical components, overseeing suppliers, design processes, and validation activities.
Responsibilities
Develop 3D models, assemblies, and detail drawings using CAD tools.
Manage component design, development, and qualification activities with multiple suppliers, ensuring alignment on quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
Define technical interface requirements and specifications in collaboration with the design team.
Conduct on‑site visits to supplier facilities to oversee manufacturing process validation and production readiness.
Drive supplier accountability by resolving DFM issues and coordinating with the supplier and testing teams to keep validation activities on schedule.
Lead mechanical design and build activities during the concept, prototype, validation, and production build phases.
Develop work instructions and document new products/tests, product design improvements, and process improvements.
Generate and release part/assembly drawings and bill of materials into the Agile PLM system.
Perform tolerance stack‑up, GD&T, and create EBOM; prepare engineering documentation (DFM/DFMA, DFMEA, PFMEA).
Manage projects independently.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
6+ years of experience in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, preferably.
3+ years of experience in high‑voltage electromechanical design and engineering.
Strong proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks) with 4+ years of experience.
Experience with GD&T, tolerance stack‑up analysis, engineering documentation, and supplier coordination.
