We are currently hiring a
Development Director
in
Hartford, CT . The Director will generate revenue for our Heart Challenge fundraising campaign, including the Greater Hartford Heart Walk and Eastern CT Heart Walk events. The role is full‑time, exempt, primarily home‑office based but requires frequent field work. You will be part of a five‑person team overseeing this market.
Responsibilities
Generate revenue by prospecting and securing local corporate sponsorship and individual donations, achieving revenue goals and building relationships with partners and donors.
Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective corporate sponsors and donors by conducting research aligned with campaign goals and the Association’s mission.
Develop and present proposals and materials to secure revenue and volunteer engagement.
Recruit and manage executive volunteer leadership, volunteer committees, and day‑of‑the‑event volunteers.
Recruit corporate team participation in Heart Walk(s) and motivate team members to fundraise.
Lead and engage new individual membership for our Cor Vitae giving society, including planning and implementing regular engagement events.
Plan and implement events in collaboration with internal and external partners.
Work with a Communications Director to support and promote campaign communication plans.
Qualifications – Required
3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or a related field.
University/College degree or equivalent experience.
Ability for daily local travel up to 30% and occasional overnight trips; requires reliable transportation.
Ability to lift or move large objects with safety precautions.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing and cultivating high‑level leaders at the C‑Suite level.
Knowledge of corporate and community networks.
Compensation & Benefits Expected pay: Base salary range $65,700 to $87,000, with incentive potential up to 25% of base pay based on revenue targets.
Competitive base salary reviewed regularly.
