Position Summary
CMA’s work under the supervision of the nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and physicians to provide basic bedside care to patients. They also assist in monitoring, observing, and communicating with patients and their families about medication, at-home care, and preventative lifestyle changes.
Essential Functions
Planning and managing patient care according to each patient’s needs
Interviewing patients and recording their medical history
Obtaining patient vital signs and escorting patients to their rooms
Administering injections of medications
Verifying that patient charts are updated promptly and accurately
Observing and recording patients’ conditions and reactions to medications and treatments
Adheres to and follows all patient experience initiatives
Reports to and departs from work on time and as scheduled
Performs other duties as assigned
Must be able to deal with stress while maintaining composure
Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Work Experience
At least one year in a medical office is preferred.
Education
Current CMA certification preferred.
BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire date.
