Job Title: Pricing Director
Location: HQ: 1430 Spring Hill Rd McLean, Virginia 22102

SUMMARY Agile Defense is seeking an experienced and dynamic Pricing Director to lead our pricing department and drive strategic pricing initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pricing strategy, financial analysis, and cross‑functional leadership, with the ability to optimize pricing models and ensure alignment with business objectives.
The Pricing Director will lead and manage our Pricing Department. This role will oversee all aspects of pricing strategy, cost estimation, and financial modeling for our government contracts, ensuring compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other applicable guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of competitive pricing strategies, cost analysis, and proposal development to drive business growth.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, implement, and oversee the company’s pricing strategies for government contracts, ensuring compliance with all federal regulations.
Lead the pricing team in preparing cost proposals, supporting business development efforts, responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other solicitations.
Perform comprehensive cost and price analysis, including direct and indirect costs, labor rates, material cost, subcontractor pricing, and profit margins.
Provide financial modeling and risk analysis to support executive decision‑making and pricing recommendations.
Interface with executive management and closely collaborate with Business Development, Capture, Proposal Teams as well as Contracts, Finance, and Program Management, to develop strategic pricing models, resolve issues, drive pricing win strategies, implement actionable solutions, and provide expert guidance and ensure accurate and competitive pricing strategies.
Monitor industry trends, pricing strategies, and regulatory changes to optimize pricing models.
Develop and maintain pricing tools, databases, and templates to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of pricing activities.
Develop and mentor pricing team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in pricing methodologies and compliance.
Support audits, pricing reviews, and negotiations with government agencies and prime contractors.
Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and company policies in all pricing activities.
Serve as the primary liaison with Government GWAC/IDIQ program offices and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES
This is a supervisory position and requires management and oversight of direct reports.
Education, Background, and Years of Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.
Minimum 10 years of federal government contract pricing, cost estimation, or financial analysis; 4 years of experience in a leadership role over a large pricing team or department.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Required Skills
Demonstrated experience in leading pricing teams and developing competitive pricing strategies. Minimum 4 years of pricing leadership experience leading pricing teams within a government contracting environment.
Strong understanding and knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and other federal procurement regulations as well as CAS and other DCAA compliance requirements and government cost accounting principles.
Experience working with various contract types (e.g., FFP, T&M, CPFF, CPAF, IDIQ).
Strong understanding of government proposal development processes.
Proficiency in pricing tools and financial modeling software (e.g., Excel).
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present pricing strategies to executives and stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple proposals and deadlines in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills
Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
Experience with competitive analysis and market‑based pricing strategies.
Strong background in financial forecasting and budgeting within the government contracting sector.
Strong technical expertise in cybersecurity, emerging technologies, and related functional areas.
Knowledge of Deltek Costpoint, Salesforce, SpendLogic desired.
WORKING CONDITIONS Environmental Conditions Agile Defense HQ office. General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 20% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
Strength Demands Sedentary – 10 lbs. Maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles. Some occasional walking or standing may be required. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
