Position Summary
We are a growing, entrepreneurial
wealth management firm
within an accounting firm seeking a
Director of Investments
to lead portfolio implementation, investment operations, content development, technology optimization, and team leadership. Investments are mostly outsourced SMAs and our fast-growing client pipeline originates from the accounting firm.
This is a
senior, client-facing role
for someone who wants to build a long-term career in the wealth management business and grow alongside the firm. As the business scales, this role offers
meaningful upside, expanding leadership responsibility, and the opportunity to shape the firm's investment platform and client experience .

Key Responsibilities
Investment Strategy & Portfolio Oversight
Oversee portfolio construction, implementation, and ongoing management across client accounts
Partner with advisors in designing investment strategies tailored to client goals and risk profiles
Review, approve, and oversee all trading activity, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance
Guide rebalancing, cash management, and tax-aware investment strategies
Serve as a senior investment resource for advisors and clients
Client Engagement & Communication
Participate in client and prospect meetings as an investment and portfolio specialist
Communicate investment strategy, portfolio positioning, and market insights in a clear, confident manner
Help reinforce the firm's investment philosophy and long-term approach
Support advisors in addressing complex portfolio questions and investment-related client needs
Investment Content & Thought Leadership
Lead development of investment-related content, including:
Model portfolio documentation
Market commentary and investment updates
Client-facing presentations and educational materials
Ensure consistency and quality of the firm's investment messaging
Contribute to thought leadership initiatives as the firm grows
Technology & Platform Leadership
Own and evolve the firm's investment, trading, and reporting technology stack
Evaluate and implement tools that improve scalability, efficiency, and client experience
Identify and drive process improvements across investment and operational workflows
Serve as a bridge between advisors, operations, and technology
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, manage, and develop team members supporting trading, investment operations, and portfolio implementation
Establish best practices, controls, and training programs
Provide mentorship and performance feedback
Participate in hiring, onboarding, and team growth planning
Firm Growth & Strategic Initiatives
Partner with leadership on firm-wide growth and scalability initiatives
Help shape the future structure of the investment platform
Contribute to strategic decision-making as the firm evolves
Grow into increased leadership influence as the business expands
The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate the Following Attributes

A seasoned investment professional comfortable in a
client-facing, advisory environment
Someone who enjoys both strategic thinking and hands-on execution
A proven manager with experience leading, training, and developing people
A collaborative partner who enhances advisor-client relationships
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or related field
7–12 years of experience in wealth management or investment management
Demonstrated experience in portfolio construction, trading, and investment oversight
Prior leadership or management experience
Strong client communication and presentation skills
High comfort level with investment technology and process improvement
Preferred
Series 65 (or willingness to obtain)
CFA or CFP or CIMA designation, or meaningful progress toward one
Experience with portfolio management and trading platforms (e.g., Orion, Tamarac, Black Diamond, Schwab, Fidelity)
