A Brief Overview This position manages the efficient and effective operations of pharmacy services. The individual also supervises and manages the associated personnel staff.

What You Will Do

Interpret and enforce established policies and procedures, create new policies and procedures, design and implement performance improvement initiatives that enhance safety, environmental, and infection control.

Provide oversight to pharmacy personnel with respect to goals and objectives of the Pharmacy Department, collaborate with leadership to improve services, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Design, implement, and monitor pharmacy practices to optimize medication management outcomes for patients.

Supervise and manage the technical support staff and staff clinical pharmacists.

Participate in Informatics meeting discussions and practice implementation relative to workflow processes, including validation of protocols and ERX records where applicable.

Partner across the organization to develop and implement solutions to improve member/client satisfaction and streamline processes between organizations for improved service delivery.

Review department performance, effect changes in collaboration with pharmacy leadership to improve services and ensure regulatory compliance.

Collaborate with physicians and other health care professionals to address patient drug therapy issues through information sharing, discussion, and decision making.

Oversee training programs for pharmacy staff, residents, and students.

Education Qualifications

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience Qualifications

Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in Pharmacy required.

PGY1 and 3 years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in Pharmacy required.

PGY1 and PGY2 (General) with 1 year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in Pharmacy required.

PGY1 and PGY2 HSPAL Residency (Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership) completion required.

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Knowledge of California State Board of Pharmacy Laws and Regulations.

Knowledge of Title 22 regulations.

Knowledge of eMS regulations, both state and federal.

Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

Ability to interpret new laws, guidelines as applied to the practice of Pharmacy.

Ability to interpret regulations and guidelines as applicable to the practice of Pharmacy.

Licenses and Certifications

Licensed as a Pharmacist by the California Board of Pharmacy within 120 Days.

Base Pay Scale Generally starting at $89.01 - $117.94 per hour. Final salary is based on internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
