Job Purpose The Director, New York Financial Planning & Analysis (“NY FP&A”) owns and leads the plan to perform process associated with National Grid USA’s New York business to drive and deliver annual operating budgets, quarterly forecasts, as well as longer‑term business plans, with finance and business insights. Collaborating with the NY Finance Business Partnering team and other key stakeholders to drive results and strategy of businesses.
Key Accountabilities
Analyze the trends of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), especially relating to financial metrics such as operating profit, costs, and return on equity
Review analytical results, develop insight suggestions for investment and cost reduction
Present the monthly financial performance of the NY business unit
Develop financial models and perform scenario analytics to support investment decisions, prospective rate filings, and other strategic initiatives
Support NY CFO and NY leadership team with data‑driven analysis
Partner with Accounting counterparts within the Controllership to ensure proper tie‑in between record to report and plan to perform processes (i.e. bridge from actuals to budget/forecast)
Drive continued step‑change to improve plan to perform process while maintaining necessary SOX requirements
Work with other leaders and peers within the Global CFO organization to drive an inclusive and collaborative team environment
Develop and manage a highly motivated, capable and adequately resourced team, driving a performance management culture that delivers value through employee engagement
Qualifications
Budgeting and long‑term financial planning
Financial analysis
US GAAP and IFRS accounting
Utility accounting and finance experience
Process implementation and monitoring
SOX‑grounded plan to perform processes
Finance/budgeting systems
Effective business partnerships
Bachelor’s degree required and MBA preferred in Finance or Business
CPA or equivalent international accounting license preferred
Compensation $194,000 - $228,000 a year
