Job Summary In addition to the responsibilities described below, this position leads the implementation of best practice models and patient care delivery systems in multiple locations. The role oversees investigation and resolution of patient/family/member concerns, facilitates collaboration with physicians, external providers, and other health‑care team members, and proactively monitors resource needs across clinical areas to ensure appropriate assignment and utilization. The Nurse Manager also manages equipment, supplies, and medications, maintains a safe environment for patients and employees, provides clinical supervision, and performs clinical duties as required. The scope of the position may include technical or supervisory experience in specialties such as Operating Room/Procedure Suite, Emergency Services, Critical Care, or Maternal Child Health, depending on assignment.

Essential Responsibilities

Creates and advocates for developmental opportunities for others; builds collaborative, cross‑functional relationships. Solicits and acts on performance feedback; works with leaders and employees to set goals and provide open feedback and coaching to drive performance improvement. Pursues professional growth; hires, trains, and develops talent, evaluates talent for succession planning, and sets performance management guidelines across teams.

Manages designated units or teams by translating business plans into tactical action items; oversees completion of work assignments and identifies improvement opportunities; ensures policies and procedures are followed; partners with stakeholders and business leaders to meet expectations and align with departmental strategies.

Manages hospital administrative functions, including negotiation of timelines for action item implementation, monitoring compliance with financial commitments, and developing short‑ and long‑term operational initiatives.

Manages care delivery operations and programs within a 24/7 environment, including development and implementation of plans, policies, and processes for data gathering and analysis, as well as alignment of direct and indirect patient‑care management solutions.

Manages improvements to operations and technology processes through strategic multi‑functional projects that aim at quality, service, affordability, and operating efficiency.

Ensures safe, quality, and standardized care delivery, driving continuous improvement of clinical practices, services, and operations while maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
