Vice President / Head of Building Diagnostics, Forensics & Construction Consulting - Southern California
A well established structural engineering firm in Southern California is looking for a motivated Structural Engineer to join a highly respected team known for complex, design driven projects and long standing client relationships. About the Role You will support and lead structural design on a wide range of project types including commercial developments, aviation facilities, mixed use, cultural and institutional buildings, as well as high end residential work. The firm handles both new construction and major renovations, giving you exposure to challenging and interesting engineering problems. You will work closely with senior engineers, project managers, architects, owners, and contractors to deliver clear, efficient, buildable solutions.
What You Will Do
Contribute to structural design for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood buildings
Support analysis, modeling, detailing, and documentation for projects of varying scales
Coordinate closely with architects and other consultants throughout all phases of design
Assist in preparing calculations, technical reports, plans, and specifications
Participate in construction administration, site visits, and field problem solving
Work with senior staff to refine design approaches and maintain high technical standards
Grow toward managing your own projects as your experience increases
What You Bring
Master's degree in structural engineering
EIT license required; PE license preferred
Experience with a wide variety of project types such as commercial, aviation, institutional, or high end residential
Solid understanding of structural analysis and design principles
Familiarity with software such as ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, RISA, or similar tools
Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with design teams and clients
A proactive mindset and ability to collaborate on high performance design work
