We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
You are looking for an RCS propulsion responsible engineer for our Gas Systems team on Lunar Transportation. You will provide technical leadership to the team, supporting members, advising on technical approaches, and bringing your experience to bear on our most challenging technical problems. You will be responsible for the vehicle’s RCS propulsion system from definition through operation, managing schedules, risks, and collaborations with internal and external suppliers.
You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence beyond Earth.

Minimum Qualifications
B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering or related technical subject area
8+ years of experience in propulsion systems
Experience with the full engineering lifecycle of propulsion systems
Excellent fundamental understanding of propulsion system requirements
Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring
Excellent fundamental understanding of compressible flow and 1D flow analysis
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills with ability to directly interface with external parties including government and commercial entities
Familiar with either agile or waterfall project management
Willingness to work on-site with occasional travel
Preferred Qualifications
M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering or related technical subject area
Systems Engineering experience, specifically requirements and interface definition, management and verification
Compensation Range for Selected States
CA applicants: $140,959.00-$197,342.25
CO applicants: $129,611.00-$181,454.70
WA applicants: $140,959.00-$197,342.25
