As a member of CLA’s CAAS practice, you will be an integral part of the client service team and will work directly 1:1 with our clients to provide customized accounting services that support them as they manage and grow their business or organization.

Job Responsibilities

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations, including Title IV programs.

Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of changing regulations and implement necessary policy updates.

Financial Aid Administration

Oversee the processing of student financial aid applications, verification, and awarding.

Manage disbursement schedules and reconcile funds with the Business Office.

Student Support & Communication

Provide clear guidance to students and families regarding financial aid options, eligibility, and application processes.

Develop communication strategies to improve understanding and engagement.

Data Management & Reporting

Maintain accurate records in compliance with audit requirements.

Prepare and submit required federal, state, and institutional reports (e.g., FISAP, IPEDS).

Strategic Planning & Collaboration

Partner with Enrollment Management and Finance teams to align financial aid strategies with institutional goals.

Recommend improvements to processes, technology, and student experience.

Job Requirements

Education : Bachelor’s degree is required; a combination of related experience, education, and training may be acceptable in lieu of a degree. CPA certification is preferred but not required.

Experience : 6 years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience is required.

Expertise in Title IV regulations and compliance.

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Experience with financial aid management systems.

Travel : Primarily in‑office; frequent local travel to client sites and occasional non‑local or overnight travel for client visits, training, meetings, and other business purposes.

Compensation : Competitive wages based on geography, experience, and skill set.

Minimum compensation ranges:

Minneapolis, MN: $93,000.00 – $165,000.00

Illinois: $95,900.00 – $171,000.00
