As a member of CLA’s CAAS practice, you will be an integral part of the CLA client service team and will work directly 1:1 with our clients to provide customized accounting services to support them as they manage and grow their business or organization.

Job Responsibilities

Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations, including Title IV programs.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing regulations and implement necessary policy updates.

Oversee the processing of student financial aid applications, verification, and awarding.

Manage disbursement schedules and reconciliation of funds with the Business Office.

Provide clear guidance to students and families regarding financial aid options, eligibility, and application processes.

Develop communication strategies to improve understanding and engagement.

Maintain accurate records in compliance with audit requirements.

Prepare and submit required federal, state, and institutional reports (e.g., FISAP, IPEDS).

Partner with Enrollment Management and Finance teams to align financial aid strategies with institutional goals.

Recommend improvements to processes, technology, and student experience.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree is required. Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree. CPA certification is preferred but not required.

6 years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience is required.

Expertise in Title IV regulations and compliance.

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Experience with financial aid management systems.

This position requires working primarily in‑office, including frequent local travel to/from client sites and may require occasional non‑local or overnight travel for client visits, training, meetings and/or other business‑related purposes.
