Regional Vice President – Mutual Funds (External Wholesaler) – TX, OK, AR, LA & MS
Equitable is seeking a Regional Vice President – External Wholesaler responsible for developing and managing consultative relationships with National, Regional, and Insurance Broker Dealer advisors within the territories of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
Responsibilities
Assess and identify the needs of advisor clients to promote new products.
Develop new producers while retaining existing producers to grow market share.
Educate and train advisors on 1290 Funds and models.
Develop new relationships and manage territory.
Utilize internal sales desk to assist in managing territory; work with and train Internal Wholesaler to collaborate with RVP.
Use Salesforce (CRM) to log activity, maintain pipeline, and analyze opportunities.
Identify, create and implement investment sales opportunities to attain stated sales goals.
Communicate with National Sales Manager on an ongoing basis.
Manage a budget and provide timely expense reporting.
Apply knowledge of territory management practices, tools, and techniques to maximize investment business across multiple geographical areas.
Travel required 75% of the time.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.
FINRA 6 and 63 or 7 required.
CIMA, CFA a plus.
Knowledge of Mutual Funds and investment products; previous direct sales experience required.
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven computer, mobile device, and organizational skills.
Willingness to travel 75% of the time.
Must be located within the territory.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in local area market preferred.
CIMA, CFA a plus.
Key Skills Client Relationship Management:
Ability to address critical client issues, meet client needs, and maintain engaged partnering relationships.
Effective Presentations:
Knowledge of presentation tools and techniques; ability to present information to groups with appropriate formality.
Industry Knowledge:
Understanding of the organization’s industry trends, regulatory considerations, and major issues.
Selling:
Proficiency with diverse sales tools, tactics, and techniques to persuade customers.
Strategic Sales Planning:
Ability to develop future‑oriented sales plans that support business strategy and capture emerging opportunities.
The base salary for this position is $85,000. This role is eligible for variable compensation.
