The LHH is seeking a Vice President of Engineering for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located in the Greater Indianapolis Area. In this newly created role, you will join a growth‑minded organization that invests in technology, champions continuous improvement, and empowers leaders to make data‑driven decisions. You’ll shape the engineering operations vision and strategy, elevate performance across sites, and build a high‑performing team focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $175,000-225,000 plus bonus and includes comprehensive benefit and insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead multi‑site operations including engineering, production, maintenance, quality, logistics, and facility management.

Translate strategy into executable operating plans and measurable KPIs.

Build, develop, and mentor managers, supervisors, and frontline teams.

Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S to improve safety, quality, and cost.

Scale processes, capacity, and throughput while maintaining product quality.

Own end‑to‑end planning, scheduling, and inventory accuracy.

Manage capital projects from business case through commissioning.

Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Optimize workflows, layouts, and equipment reliability to reduce downtime.

Implement and improve ERP/MRP processes and data integrity.

Establish standard work, SOPs, and training for consistent execution.

Monitor performance dashboards and course‑correct using data.

Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, R&D, commercial, and finance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or Industrial Technology is required.

Minimum of 10+ years of engineering/operations leadership experience within a manufacturing organization is required.

Must have experience upscaling operations and leading multi‑site teams.

Must have experience with Lean and Six Sigma deployments delivering measurable KPI improvements.

Must be comfortable being hands‑on with equipment, processes, and daily operations.

Ideal candidates will have experience in high‑growth or start‑up environments.

Ideal candidates will have experience with capital project justification and commissioning.

Ideal candidates will have the ability to optimize layouts and material flow.

Ideal candidates will have the ability to manage budgets and P&L accountability.

Strong leadership, change management, and talent development skills.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities.
