About the Position:
Our client, a Midwest-based Am Law 100 firm, has an active need for an IP lawyer with 1-3 years of patent prosecution experience and a degree in mechanical or chemical engineering to join its Chicago office as an associate. The attorneys in this thriving practice have backgrounds in technology and scientific spaces from nearly every industry sector. The firm offers the full suite of patent services, including procurement, prosecution, domestic and global portfolio maintenance, post‑grant proceedings, valuation and transaction advice, pre‑suit investigations and opinions, clearance and design‑around options.

Responsibilities
Prosecute patent applications in a range of chemical and mechanical technologies, including filtration, material science, polymer science and medical devices
Required Qualifications
1‑3 years of patent prosecution experience
Experience with mechanical technologies
Degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
USPTO admission
Strong academic credentials
Location Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
Compensation The anticipated base salary range for this position is $175,000 – $255,000.
