Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Finance Manager to be a key member of the AWS GenAI team. This role will own end‑to‑end finance support, including CapEx management and planning for Generative AI services. Additionally, the role will drive strategic new Generative AI feature launches and process improvements across the organization. The successful candidate will communicate effectively, manage multiple time‑sensitive deliverables across a highly matrixed organization, and manage risks and opportunities. The individual will possess strong business partnership skills and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders.
Key Job Responsibilities
Take the lead in financial planning; build complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance.
Own the GenAI services end‑to‑end, and influence business decisions that drive revenue and/or capital expenditures.
Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, including automation and coordination with upstream and downstream organizations.
Partner with finance teams across AWS to standardize, streamline, and prioritize improvements, remove roadblocks, and increase the reliability and efficiency of reporting.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science). Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of quantitative role experience (engineering, process re‑engineering, quality assurance).
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of SQL/ETL.
MBA, or CPA.
6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analysis experience.
6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience.
6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision‑making experience.
6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience.
5+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause, and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience.
5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits).
Experience working with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.

The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
