Salary Range: $85,000 - $130,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Portage seeking HR Managers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and retention for production, technical, and administrative roles.
  • Oversee employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions, ensuring a fair and productive work environment.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with labor laws and manufacturing safety regulations.
  • Administer compensation, benefits, and payroll processes, ensuring competitive and equitable practices.
  • Lead performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and development plans for manufacturing staff.
  • Coordinate and deliver training programs focused on safety, skills development, and leadership within the factory.
  • Manage HR data and analytics to inform workforce planning and support operational efficiency goals.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an HR Manager or senior HR generalist within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of labor relations, collective bargaining, and union environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR compliance, safety regulations (e.g., OSHA), and workers' compensation processes pertinent to manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage talent acquisition, development, and retention for a diverse workforce, including production, technical, and professional roles.
  • Experience with strategic HR partnering, aligning HR initiatives with operational goals and productivity targets.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with union relations or strong employee relations in a non-union manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and their HR application.
  • Proficiency in a relevant second language (e.g., Spanish) to support a diverse workforce.
  • Direct experience managing workers' compensation claims and safety initiatives.
