Director of Nursing (RN)
A well‑established long‑term care organization seeks an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead all nursing services and clinical operations. This full‑time, exempt leadership role offers the opportunity to guide the facility through an active regulatory survey window, strengthen a developing leadership team, and play a key role in the transition to a brand‑new facility opening in early 2026. The company offers a competitive salary along with quarterly and annual bonus eligibility.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily nursing department operations in compliance with state, federal, and local regulations.
Lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff to ensure clinical excellence and accountability.
Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and departmental budgets.
Direct infection control programs and oversee high‑acuity resident care.
Lead and support regulatory surveys, audits, and inspections.
Develop and implement Plans of Correction as required.
Respond to complaints, incidents, and sentinel events, including mandated reporting.
Ensure accurate narcotics inventory, pharmacy coordination, and crash cart readiness.
Maintain complete clinical documentation and HIPAA compliance.
Serve as a hands‑on leader, including floor support and participation in on‑call rotation.
Qualifications
Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or a compact state.
Current BLS/CPR certification with in‑person skills assessment.
3–5 years of nursing leadership experience, preferably in long‑term care or skilled nursing settings.
Proven experience with regulatory surveys and compliance processes.
Strong leadership, communication, and team‑management skills.
Ability and willingness to be on call and provide direct patient care when needed.
Ability to meet physical job requirements, including lifting and assisting residents.
