POSITION SUMMARY: Primarily responsible for coordinating the CALEA Accreditation process within the Police Department.
STARTING SALARY HIRING RANGE: $30.31 - $33.19 per hour ($63,034 - $69,039 annually)
CLASS DESCRIPTION: Performs professional level administrative work, which may include supervisory responsibility, under general supervision from an administrative or technical superior. Work includes carrying out administrative and technical tasks related to administrative support, public information, and purchasing. Other related duties may be assigned.
Works and cooperates with co-workers and supervisors at all levels.
Learns and performs all essential job functions accurately.
Identifies and collects data to maintain files as required by CALEA.
Coordinates other CALEA Accreditation tasks to meet deadlines to assure efficient workflow throughout the Department.
Maintains files and reports pertaining to CALEA Accreditation assignments and projects.
Identifies and suggests program monitoring systems and procedures for the improvement of agency performance in compliance with applicable CALEA Accreditation standards.
Reviews department directives to ensure they meet the latest CALEA standards.
Reviews a wide variety of complex and technical issues concerning law enforcement standards and the CALEA Accreditation process.
Provides CALEA Accreditation training for Departmental personnel.
Attends CALEA meetings and local accreditation network meetings.
Interacts with various Departmental components to complete assignments.
Keeps informed concerning the Accreditation process, including proposed changes or amendments to the standards, transition policies, or process changes. Evaluates the impact of these changes on Department policies and procedures.
Maintains logs pertaining to work assignments and manages data within PowerDMS and CIMRS.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree and one (1) year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Law enforcement experience or a combination of law enforcement and relevant administrative work experience.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Possession of a valid driver's license.
