Responsibilities
Develop a hospital plan for the provision of nursing care based on patient needs and the hospital mission.
Review work schedules, assignments, patient classification, and supervisor reports to assess staffing requirements for quality care.
Recommend and implement changes in personnel and assignments as necessary.
Act as an administrative resource to clinical directors and coordinators.
Participate with the governing body, management team, medical staff, and clinical areas in developing, implementing, and evaluating the hospital's strategic plan, budgets, resource allocation, and policies.
Meet regularly with the administrative team to discuss objectives, staffing needs, and management issues.
Stay informed about nursing care and management through literature, workshops, seminars, courses, and conferences.
Implement an ongoing evaluation process for patient care to ensure continuous improvement.
Evaluate and ensure the nursing process is carried out consistently for all patients.
Ensure the continuous availability of nursing services to patients.
Incorporate current research findings into policies and procedures for nursing care.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Nursing and Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration.
5 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment overseeing multiple complex nursing departments.
Preferred: Previous experience as a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and in a surgical hospital.
Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice as required by law or policy.
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Salary Annual Salary: $150,000 - $165,000 USD.
