JOB SUMMARY
The Business Development Leader (BDL) is responsible for driving non-TPA revenue growth within their assigned region for Jenkins Services, LLC, and Jenkins Environmental, LLC. This role focuses on building and expanding relationships across insurance carriers, agencies/brokers, property management groups, adjusters, and other key decision-makers. While regionally focused, the BDL may pursue opportunities outside their home region as appropriate.
The BDL plays a key role in logging, managing, and reporting sales activities within the company CRM and ensuring alignment with broader national account strategies. This role reports directly to the Sr. National Account Manager/Systems Expert, who provides oversight, support, and guidance on strategy, process, and accountability. Compensation is incentive-based and tied to measurable revenue growth and activity targets.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop annual business goals outlining key activity plans, target accounts, and revenue objectives for the fiscal year.
Conduct the full sales cycle to uncover, develop, and close opportunities, including prospecting, sales calls, follow-ups, client needs analysis, and both virtual and in-person meetings/presentations.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all sales activity, opportunities, contacts, and pipeline updates within the CRM.
Provide weekly updates to the Sr. National Account Manager on activity levels, opportunities, account progress, pipeline health, and strategic initiatives.
Pursue regional target accounts such as:
Insurance carriers and agencies/brokers
Property claims adjusters
Residential and commercial property managers
Community association managers
Commercial and residential property owners
Build and maintain a strong working knowledge of each client’s processes, guidelines, service expectations, and operating standards, and ensure Jenkins field teams are aligned.
Conduct periodic check-ins with customers to confirm satisfaction on completed projects and identify opportunities for further engagement.
Work collaboratively with the Sr. National Account Manager on opportunities that expand beyond local markets or overlap with national account strategies.
Partner with General Managers, Project Managers, Estimators, and other operational roles to coordinate responses, support large losses, and enhance client relationships.
Monitor assigned account performance, analyze trends, and proactively identify growth opportunities.
Attend regional or industry trade shows, networking events, and professional gatherings approved by management.
Support incoming opportunities by helping coordinate mobilization and timely client communication.
Manage an approved sales and travel budget in alignment with management expectations.
Travel to customer meetings, large project sites, or regional opportunities as needed.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: Associates degree (A.A or A.S) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; 2 to 3 years of industry related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Business Development Leader (BDL) must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Demonstrate the ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and the ability to speak effectively to customers and/or employees of organization. TECHNICAL SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, the BDL should have knowledge of industry related software be able to “touch type” and be familiar with software like Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.); able to communicate via cell phone and appropriate apps. REASONING ABILITY: The BDL should possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. They should also have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form in the English language. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the BDL is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell.
